Colorectal Cancer Gross Dissection

Colorectal Cancer Gross Dissection. This 53 minute video by Professor Phil Quirke from Leeds, UK, describes in detail how to cut up colorectal carcinoma abdominoperineal resection specimens. It describes the anatomy of the abdominoperineal dissection, how to cut up the pathology specimen after painting the specimen resection margins by slicing the specimen at 2mm intervals. It also shows how to assess the quality of the surgical excision plane resection, and one pathological method (the Mandard method) for assessment of response to chemotherapy.
